JOB TITLE : MAIL CLERK (1)

RESPONSIBLE TO : ASSISTANT CONTROLLER

JOB PURPOSE
To process mail in order to reach its destination within a short specified period of time.
KEY PERFORMANCE OUTPUTS- Processed Mail circulation
- Guaranteed appropriate Mail sorting
- Processed transactions
- Consumers
- Senior Management Team
-Process all incoming and outgoing mail
-Receive and enter mail matters in appropriate bills and books.
-Dispatch internal, international mails and parcels.
- GUARANTEE APPROPRIATE MAIL SORTING
-Sorting letters on primary and secondary sorting frames
-Sorting letters for private bags and private boxes.
-Report irregularities observed during mail sorting.
-Forward unclaimed letters to Returned Letters Office (RLO).
-Check posted items for damages sustained in transit.
-Process unclaimed mail matter.
- PROCESS TRANSACTIONS
-Credit and debit customers’ accounts
-Record transactions and reconcile with cash balance.
-Process receipts and payments of money and postal orders.
- PERFORM RETAIL DUTIES
-Perform retail duties on a rotational basis.
-Collects revenue.
-Process and balance transaction.
-Accept and delivers mail items.

- Personally motivated and able to interact
- Diploma in Accounting / Diploma in Business Management/Diploma in Business Studies plus two years working experience. Experience in Postal Services will be an added advantage.
OR
COSC plus 6 years working as a Postal Clerk.
