The Key Purpose of this role is to provide engineering support to the maintenance function through the repairing, replacing or manufacturing of parts for plant, machines and equipment in manufacturing.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
- Provide specialist support to shift-based teams during operations, including standby and day shift support.
- Act as a functional expert in problem-solving and guide shift teams on machine operation, fault finding, and responses to machine failures.
- Coach, mentor, and transfer knowledge of machine operation to shift-based teams.
- Participate in regional and central office plant optimization trials.
- Contribute to maintenance planning meetings and clarify work requirements.
- Execute work during planned maintenance windows as per the schedule.
- Provide feedback to the Maintenance Planner when scheduled work cannot be completed.
- Assist team members during maintenance activities and partake in post-mortems to identify learnings and opportunities.
- Perform cleaning, lubrication, and inspection activities as per the maintenance schedule.
- Resolve problems uncovered during routine maintenance using appropriate techniques and escalate as needed.
- Conduct condition monitoring activities as per the CM schedule.
- Participate in or support running repairs on plant equipment.
- Assess issues, determine solutions, and involve internal or external specialists if required.
- Verify repair effectiveness and complete associated administrative tasks, including SAP entries.
- Communicate unresolved issues to the Maintenance Planner for inclusion in future plans.
- Apply appropriate problem-solving techniques to address routine and non-routine issues.
- Escalate unresolved issues to the Maintenance Planner or Engineer and support team problem-solving efforts.
- Participate in FFA processes as a functional expert when required.
- Maintain safety and housekeeping standards at workstations, workshops, and during task execution.
- Adhere to safety, health, and environmental policies, procedures, and legislation.
- Conduct safety inspections and audits to ensure adherence to PPE policies and maintenance of tools.
- Apply 4S principles and highlight unsafe practices for correction.

Minimum Requirements:
- Trade-tested Mechanical Artisan, Millwright, or qualified Welder.
- Ammonia CAT A & B Certification.
- Minimum 2-3 months of on-the-job training plus Manufacturer Basic Maintenance Training.
- Ideal: 3-6 months of on-the-job training.
- 1-2 years of experience as an Artisan.
