Position: IT Audit Specialist

Reports To: GM – Internal Audit
Main Purpose:
Provides specialized high level IT audit support to General Manager: Internal Audit in providing objective and independent assurance to the Audit, Risk and Finance committee on the adequacy and effectiveness of the ETL’s IT systems of internal control, risk management, governance processes and provide management with constructive, cost-effective recommendations to improve IT operations.
Major Tasks:
- Participates in annual audit risk assessment and development of the audit plan
- Provide the GM Internal Audit with specialist IT and technical input in development of Internal Audit’s short- and long-term plans
- Represents the Internal Audit department in weekly technical meetings and annual technical strategic reviews and participates as an IT audit advisor in such forums
- Plans, coordinates, and executes IT audits and other audit engagements as per approved audit plan
- Collaborates with risk management, revenue assurance and fraud management sections, external auditors, and other regulatory auditors (CBL, LCA, GOL) or other external providers of assurance and provide guidance and respond to questions on IT audit matters
- Extracts data from source systems and performs data analytics for operational and financial audits
- Assumes the role of technical expert for the audit department in relation to audit tools to be utilized in the performance of audit engagements and activities (e.g., audit and risk management software data analytics tools like Barn owl, IDEA, ACL, Arbutus Analyzer etc.)
- Continuously train internal auditors on data analytics
- Monitor internal audit recommendations for implementation by management
- Performs pre and post implementation reviews for IT and network projects, new system implementation and enhancements (upgrades)
- Participates as an advisor in special projects such as: new system development and conversions; Network security assessments; assessment of IT environment and system integrations
- Evaluates the accuracy of stated systems controls by third party service providers
- Tests the integrity of the company’s financial management information systems (IBM-BI, Oracle ERM/EBS, Ecorec, OCS/Billing system, Comviva mobiquity, Ecosure etc) and checks the accuracy of financial data and reports from such systems
Educational Qualifications and Related Experience:
- BSc Computer Science or equivalent
- Certified Information Systems (CISA)
- 3 – 5 years IT Audit experience
- Experience in the Telecommunications industry is added advantage
