Job Presentation

Partners In Health is the implementer under the TB Elimination project. The project is aimed at accelerating the reduction in TB incidences and mortality, improve access to highly sensitive and rapid diagnostics, ensure access to quality-assured and patient-centered care and contribute to the reduction of catastrophic costs.


To realize this great mission, PIH-Lesotho has a goal to screen everybody, test all presumptive TB clients, initiate all newly diagnosed TB patients, conduct contact tracing, test all the contacts and initiate all eligible clients on TB preventive Therapy. PIH Lesotho will implement innovative community and facility based interventions in Lebakeng, Tlhanyaku, Bobete, Methalaneng, Manamaneng and in the entire district of Mohale’s Hoek district.


Partners In Health- Lesotho (PIH-Ls) is looking for competent candidates to fill in the following position (s):

Position Overview:


Partners In Health( PIH) is launching a TB elimination project in Mohales Hoek district to accompany the Ministry of Health in TB elimination efforts. To eliminate TB, it is important to have a strong and robust active TB case finding at the health facilities and community levels. Under the TB Elimination project, PIM will use a mobile van to reach various communities and some health facilities.


The TB nurse will oversee the overall TB screening, testing, and starting of TB patients into treatment in the mobile van. Additionally, the TB nurse will participate in the management and care of patient records at the mobile van and link patients to the next level of care.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Conducts scheduled and regular community TB outreach activities
  • Maintain patients’ information and records for proper patient management and follow-up.
  • Communicate with patients and their families ethically and professionally.
  • Supports and conducts Community gatherings with Village health workers to increase uptake of communities on TB screening
  • Make sure that all suspected TB patients get a timely screening, diagnosis, and treatment decisions
  • Ensure linkage of TB-diagnosed patients to the nearest health facilities.
  • Ensure all the key risk populations are screened, tested, and linked into care during mobile outreach activities.
  • Communicate daily on the follow-up of the linkage of TB case management and TB preventive Therapy (TPT) with the referred health facilities.
  • Maintain up-to-date patient records including lab results and TPT initiation records
  • Ensure the availability of the TB screening register, TB suspect register, and TB treatment register.
  • Ensure availability of supplies at all times for outreach TB screening and management.
  • Prepares and submits weekly, monthly quarterly, and annual reports.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the TB medical officer
Minimum Requirements
  • Diploma in Nurse midwifery
  • Willing to work in remote and hard-to-reach areas , Good Interpersonal Communication Good command of Microsoft Word
  • Willing to work for a social justice organization with remote communities
