MOSEPELE FOUNDATION DEVELOPMENT FORUM (MFDF)

Founded in Lesotho in 2015, MFDF is a local youth-led organization with a presence in health facilities and communities across Lesotho and a membership of over 5,000 youth. Mosepele’s voice resonates in communities and on national platforms, representing Basotho youth in critical discussions and initiatives. MFDF engages young people as critical decision-makers and participants in the design, delivery, and monitoring of health and socio-economic services.

Guided by the Lesotho National Youth Policy, MFDF represent Basotho youth nationally, including at Lesotho Country Coordinating Mechanisms (LCCM) and PEPFAR COP meetings.

MFDF has a proven track record in executing impactful projects, including PEPFAR Community Lead Monitoring, The Global Fund’s Her Voice Fund, Global Fund for Children’s Mental Health etc.

MFDF is looking for suitable candidates for the following positions:

Reports to: Senior DREAMS Manager

Supervises: DREAMS Supervisors

Position Type: Full-Time

Overview:

The DREAMS Manager will oversee the implementation and management of the DREAMS (Determined, Resilient, Empowered, AIDS-free, Mentored, and Safe) initiative under BOKAMOSO Project. This role is critical for ensuring the program’s success in reducing HIV incidence among adolescent girls and young women through a community-centered approach. The DREAMS Manager will report to the Senior DREAMS Manager and will be responsible for supervising DREAMS Ambassadors, coordinating program activities, and ensuring alignment with project goals.

Key Responsibilities:

Program Management:

  • Oversee and manage the daily operations of the DREAMS program, ensuring alignment with project goals and USAID guidelines.
  • Implement program activities effectively, monitor progress, and address any issues that arise.
  • Develop and execute work plans to achieve program objectives and ensure timely completion of milestones.
  • Supervision and Team Management:

  • Supervise and support DREAMS Ambassadors, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Foster a collaborative and productive team environment, addressing staff concerns and resolving conflicts as needed.
  • Ensure that DREAMS Ambassadors have the resources and support necessary to perform their duties effectively.
  • Stakeholder Coordination:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with local government agencies, community-based organizations, and other key stakeholders.
  • Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among all program partners to enhance program delivery and impact.
  • Capacity Building:

  • Identify training needs and coordinate capacity-building activities for DREAMS Ambassadors and program staff.
  • Support professional development opportunities to enhance staff skills and program effectiveness.
  • Budget and Resource Management:

  • Assist in the development and management of the program budget, ensuring efficient allocation and utilization of resources.
  • Monitor expenditures and ensure adherence to USAID financial policies and procedures.
  • Data Management and Reporting:

  • Oversee data collection, analysis, and reporting to track program performance and outcomes.
  • Prepare and submit regular reports to the Senior DREAMS Manager and USAID, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Compliance and Quality Assurance:

  • Ensure that all program activities adhere to USAID regulations, project agreements, and local laws.
  • Implement and monitor quality assurance processes to maintain high standards of program delivery and reporting.
  • Strategic Planning:

  • Contribute to the strategic planning of the DREAMS program, aligning activities with broader project goals and USAID priorities.
  • Identify and address emerging challenges and opportunities to enhance program impact and effectiveness.
  • Qualifications:

    • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Social Sciences, Development Studies, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.
    • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in program management, preferably in health or HIV/AIDS-related programs, including at least 2 years in a supervisory role.

    Skills:

    • Strong leadership and management skills, with experience in supervising and mentoring staff.
    • Excellent project management capabilities, with a track record of successful program implementation.
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
    • Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools.
    • Familiarity with USAID regulations and procedures is highly desirable.
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently.
    • Language: Proficiency in English is required. Additional language skills relevant to the project location are a plus.
