mothers2mothers (m2m) is an African Primary Health Care organisation that employs women living with HIV as community health workers across 10 African nations. These “Mentor Mothers” deliver integrated health services at clinics and in communities to ensure everyone, everywhere, has access to the services they need to be healthy and stay in care. Over the next five years, this proven, peer-led model is being scaled up to double down on ending HIV, as well as to tackle new health challenges and reach more people – all with the aim of building a fairer, healthier future. The employment of local women as community health workers means that we are delivering a model that prioritises healthcare for families who need it most, delivered by women who know them best. Since its creation in 2001, m2m has created jobs for nearly 12,000 women living with HIV in sub-Saharan Africa and, together, they have reached over 15M people with critical health services and education. In 2021, m2m reached over 1.6M people across 10 African nations, including 402,616 adolescents (ages 10-19) – 51% more than the year before. m2m also advanced the Global Goals of ending HIV/AIDS by 2030 – by achieving virtual elimination of mother-to-child transmission of HIV among its enrolled clients for the eighth consecutive year, and meeting all of the ambitious UNAIDS Fast-Track Targets among its clients four years ahead of the 2026 target date. Job Title: DriverClosing Date: 19/9/2024Job Description

The Driver transports staff, goods, and other personnel conducting official m2m business. They assure properly maintained and operate the vehicle according to m2m vehicle policy, law and donor requirements and manufacturer specifications. They will provide coordination and logistical support to program units, and support in office and field logistics such as photocopying and filing.

Key Performance Areas
Driving 

  • Transport m2m staff and other personnel as may be required
  • Updates the logbook per trip and submit mileage report monthly
  • Report periodic servicing and licensing renewal in advance to ensure proper handling
  • Collect and deliver official materials including documents
  • Ensure that all vehicles are in road worth condition by undertaking routine checks
  • Develop and updates monthly transport schedule
  • Ensure vehicles are clean, safely parked at approved destination and keys are kept under security in the office
  • Ensure safe keeping of vehicle accessories
  • Keep vehicle fuelled and do necessary checks every morning
  • Ensure that immediate actions required by traffic rules and regulations are taken in the case of car accidents.

Logistics 

  • Perform messenger services
  • Raise Purchase requisition for replacement and purchase of vehicle accessories
  • Provide administrative support such as Photocopying, scanning and binding of documents
  • Work in close collaboration with the management staff and other employees of m2m

Position is contingent upon funding availability.

Job Requirements

Qualifications and Experience:
High School or Higher National Diploma. A high standard of cleaning knowledge is preferred

Competencies:

  • 2 years relevant experience preferably in an Office setting or Hospitality Industry
  • Basic Computer Skills
  • Impeccable cleaning skills and tidy presentation
  • Great interpersonal and communication skills
  • Conversant in English
  • Knowledge of health and safety standards and the ability to handle cleaning chemicals safely
  • Good writing skills
  • Ability to show initiative and a positive attitude
  • Keenness to learn and teachable
  • Ability to work unsupervised
  • Organization and Secretarial skills
  • Excellent time management skills
