Job Description:
Job Summary:
Based in the National Office (NO), the Project Coordinator (PC) will be in charge of the management and coordination of all project activities in the implementation areas, overall monitoring and evaluation processes, technical support at all stages and partner networking.
To facilitate documentation of best practices and share them with different partners both internally and externally in order to inform National level advocacy interventions and thus contribute towards efficiency improvements in the response to Trafficking in Person (TiP) and support of People living with Disability (PwD) in Lesotho. The project support Cluster operations in the following districts: Quthing, Mohales hoek, Mafeteng, Maseru, Berea, Leribe, Mokhotlong.
PROJECT MANAGEMENT, MONITORING AND EVALUATION 30%
- Lead planning and implementation processes involving Assessments, Designs/Redesigns, Baselines, Evaluations and Transition as well as Lessons Learnt Events;
- Conduct project site visits and lead project monitoring processes by staff and partners to ensure alignment to National Office Strategy and achievement of planned objectives;
- Ensure high level of quality deliverables of the project in line with donor standards and World Vision’s operating model and development approach;
- Ensure timely consolidation and submission of projects annual management reports, semi-annual management reports, relevant project and special reports and success stories from the supported Area Programmes;
PROJECT INTEGRATION, EFFECTIVENESS AND ALIGNMENT 30%
- Engage with the technical programs and cluster teams to accelerate planning sessions for a successful integration of World Vision programmes.
- Strengthen the capacity and technical project management in operations of the Project Officers;
- Facilitate participation of all stakeholders in identifying potentials and applying them to achieve goals, build networks for extensive support and skills acquisition to TiP victims, communities and PwD;
- Ensure well-coordinated and effective communication with the media house to promote the project initiatives and campaigns;
- Create and maintain effective working relationships with Donors, Partners, Government Ministries and Sectors, Police, Law & Justice institutions and communities to ensure project effectiveness in the Area Programs.
- Ensure availability of Project Information/data for input to guide timely management and donors’ decision-making process
FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT & ACCOUNTABILITY 20%
- Lead project budgeting and planning processes and reviews; ensuring effective and efficient execution project and programme budget for planned objectives;
- Put in place immediate measures to address all variances in actual budget spending;
- Review Projects and Programmes Field Financial Reports regularly and provide the required support to Cluster Managers and field teams to ensure Zero over or under expenditure in the supported areas;
- Ensure that action plans are developed, submitted and implemented to address all audit recommendations periodically;
PEOPLE MANAGEMENT & DEVELOPMENT 20%
- Effective staff supervision, capacity building and performance management;
- Support staff work-life balance and entrench high level of motivation to achieve project objectives;
- Provide team leadership to ensure objectives are met in a timely manner;
- Maintain up-to-date workforce planning and make prior recommendations when need arises to manage vacancy factor;
- Resolve and manage conflicts within teams so as to maintain team spirit and well-being.
Other Competencies/Attributes:
- Must be a committed Christian, able to stand above denominational diversities.
- Attend and participate in daily devotions.
- Solid experience in advocacy work preferably in the field of child protection;
- Excellent facilitation, presentation, communication and reporting skills;
- Be culturally sensitive and have the ability to work with people from different cultural backgrounds;
- Must be able to work independently while being a team player;
- Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications: Education/Knowledge/Technical Skills and Experience:
The following may be acquired through acquired through a combination of formal or self-education, prior to experience or on-the-job training:
Minimum Qualification Required:
- Masters Degree in Law, Social Work, Public Administration or Community Development;
- Experience in working with the civil society organizations, community and faith-based institutions;
- Experience in engaging governments and working in policy environment;
- Experience in conducting policy-oriented research;
- Demonstrated knowledge of Human Rights, Child Protection, Disability & Trafficking in Person legislations;
- Familiarity with Trafficking in Person (TiP) and People living with Disability (PwD) Dynamics;
- Experience: At least seven (10) years in the project field.
