The Examinations Council of Lesotho [ECoL] invites expressions of interest from suitably qualified local candidates for the following position;
Quality Assurance Officer – Languages and Social Sciences
Under the general supervision of the Senior Manager – Quality Assurance, the Quality Assurance Officer – Languages and Social Sciences, is responsible for implementing checks and balances during the development of assessment materials. This requires adherence to robust quality assurance standards and close monitoring of the whole assessment material development process.
Education and Work Experience Requirements:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Undertakes quality assurance activities aimed at the improvement of the organization’s assessment products in Languages and Social Sciences at all levels
- Develops in-house quality assurance procedures and standards
- Develops plans and schedules to achieve agreed targets
- Tracks and monitors all submissions of work and generates Quality Assurance (QA) performance reports for Languages and Social Sciences
- Performs QA reviews of all work submissions in accordance with specifications and issues submission compliance report for each QA review
- Conducts timely and constructive performance evaluation of processes aimed at improving the quality of the assessments
- Trains Revisers and Vetter’s on the Quality Assurance procedures
- Disseminates assessment standards and procedures to the internal and external stakeholders
- Analyses Revisers and Vetter’s feedback for improvement of the assessment product
- Reviews processes to ensure alignment of the assessment tools with the curriculum
- Ensures that assessment development processes are benchmarked with the international standards
- Participates in the development of guidelines for the entire organisational processes.
- Degree qualification in Education with majors in Languages/Social Sciences plus a minimum of five years’ teaching experience OR a Master Degree in Education (with specialisation in Assessment and Quality Assurance Education and Training) plus three years’ relevant experience.
- Experience in marking will be an added advantage.
