The vacancy

We have an excellent opportunity for a Partnerships Officer, in our Strategy, Portfolio, Partnerships and Digital Division (SPPDD).

The Strategy, Portfolio, Partnerships and Digital Division has the delegated authority for managing the Secretariat’s programme portfolio, partnerships and strategic innovation and digital initiatives. The Division provides support to the organisation in devising strategies, policies and innovative institutional mechanisms and practices to implement the Secretariat’s programme of work as mandated by member governments. In addition, the Division also works as the Secretariat for internal and external governance and provides support in convening high level meetings such as the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting, Ministerial Meetings and the London-based Governing Boards. It builds and maintains relationship and partnerships with member states, Commonwealth organisations and external institutions.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the delivery of the Secretariat’s Partnerships Strategy, managing and strengthening the Secretariat’s partnership with member governments, Commonwealth-accredited organisations as well as other institutional partners from the international development, private and voluntary sectors.

To be considered, you will need a post-graduate degree in International Development, Public/Business Administration, International Relations, Marketing, Social Sciences, Fundraising Social Sciences, or a related field. You will need minimum of 5 years working experience across partnerships, resource mobilisation, communications, stakeholder engagement and advocacy. Also required is experience of strong project management, impact evaluation/result reporting writing and good understanding of budgeting, reporting, monitoring and evaluating projects and programmes.

The Commonwealth is a voluntary association of 56 member governments and provides guidance on policy making, technical assistance and advisory services to Commonwealth member countries. We support governments to help achieve sustainable, inclusive and equitable development.
