MINET LESOTHOPosition Title: Claims and Compliance Consultant TraineeResponsible for the areas of short-term insurance claims. Assist the compliance team in ensuring that the company adheres to all relevant laws and regulations and internal policiesJOB DESCRIPTION1. Processing of claims through recognized procedures2. Monitor progress of claims in general3. To produce accurate claims statistics4. To initiate recovery and follow through process5. Calculate accurate claim settlement, negotiate settlement with insurers and negotiate with suppliers6. Handle all complex claims, for example, large  claims and public liability claims and work closely with brokers7. Attend to all legal correspondence from lawyers and refers to claims managers8. Answers queries relating to clients policies and interprets polices on behalf of clients9. Authorize repairs where there is authority.10. Seek legal opinion from Senior Counsels /Claims Manager for our reference and for the benefit of our clients11. Receives claims notifications/forms/documents from clients and liaise with Insurers / Claims Department on appointment of assessors and settlement of claims.12. Assists clients with settlement of claims through negotiations and correspondence with insurance companies13. Prepare a clearly defined plan on improving claims management with timelines and clearly defined implementation plan14. Keep abreast of changes in law that affects our industry generally and in particular laws that govern policies and change in practice15. Maintains Diary System.16. Monitoring compliance procedures, conducting research on regulatory requirements and helping to develop and implement compliance programs17.Fostering of sound working relationships with other functional business units/divisions18. Contributing towards the company’s business growth, sustainability, and profit objectives19.
