NALA BUTCHERY is primarily a family butcher shop in Maseru. We have served our customers well throughout the past 6 years and have performed exceptionally with our outside Butcher Grill. Nala Butchery prides itself on learning its customers’ taste, which has led us to develop our own signature Boer-Wors flavour.
POSITION: HEALTH AND SAFETY OFFICER (1)The Health and Safety Officer reports to the Butchery Operations Manager and is responsible for planning, implementing, and managing safety programs to ensure safe working conditions, investigating accidents and hazards to prevent future issues, and developing and conducting worker training sessions.Responsibilities:• Ensure compliance with Health and Safety regulations of the Government of Lesotho and• Keeping updated with key changes to legislation and ensuring the organisation remains compliant.• Identify and review PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) needs and ensure that protective equipment is worn at all times.• To carry out site daily inspections to monitor operations and procedures are being executed correctly with effective communication.• Assist in accident investigation & follow ups.• Monitor site training requirements, organise trainings & keep training matrix up to date• Ensure all Health & Safety documentation have correct details, signed off and filed correctly.• Conduct Toolbox Talks.• Assist in all aspects of the Site Emergency Plan.• Help prepare Health and Safety Policies & SOPs.• Help carry out risk assessments, identify how risk could be reduced & produce reports to suggest improvements.• Complying weekly & monthly health and safety reports• Ensure electrical equipment is maintained, examined and tested regularly by a competent person.Requirements:• Be trustworthy and reliable.• Have good administrative and communication skills.• Demonstrate a genuine concern for people’s health and safety.• Be confident and address employees or management who is at fault or not complying with the set safety standards.• Be able to think outside the box and being a natural problem solver.Qualifications:Certificate in Health and Safety/ equivalent.Interested Candidates are required to submit their Curriculum Vitae (CV) along with copies of their educational certificates on the following email address: [email protected] by the 5th September 2024.
