Metropolitan Lesotho Asset Managers (Pty) Ltd is a subsidiary of the Metropolitan Lesotho Ltd which is part of Momentum Group, a Financial Services Provider registered on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange. We are currently looking for a result orientated individual in the position of Business Development Manager based in Maseru, Lesotho. The incumbent will report directly to the General Manager- Metropolitan Lesotho Asset Managers (MLAM).

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
To drive the growth strategy of Metropolitan Lesotho Asset Managers, build and maintain strong client relationships and mange business development activities.

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and implement approaches to identify and develop new business opportunities in existing and under penetrated markets.
  • Contribute to the development and packaging of financial services solutions and ensure that operational considerations and client financial wellness needs are incorporated into the development process.
  • Develop and implement plans to increase and optimize the utilization of products in sales and advice.
  • Drive the implementation of the strategy to maximize revenue through alignment of in-house products and solutions.
  • Implement and operationalize tactical plans in collaboration with executive management and other relevant business stakeholders enable service delivery and achieve business objectives.
  • Facilitate initiatives aimed at equipping the sales force in business to identify and meet clients’ need and improve client engagement.
  • Build and maintain strategic partnerships with business partners, stakeholders and business areas to understand business priorities and requirements.
  • Gather competitive intelligence and new product ideas from the business environment and share market insights with management team.
  • Drive the application of good governance principles and legislative compliance within the area.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement or potential challenges and implement mitigating tactics.
  • Based on client need framework customize solutions for clients across licenses within the CVP framework
  • Provide authoritative, expertise and guidance to stakeholders.
  • Deliver on service level agreements made with internal and external stakeholders to ensure that client expectations are managed.
  • Make recommendations to improve client service and fair treatment of clients within area of responsibility.
  • Control the budget for area, including the authorisation of expenditures and implementation of financial regulations.
  • Manage high risk and problematic financial issues in area of accountability and contribute to the development of policy.
  • Identify solutions to enhance cost effectiveness and increase operational efficiency
  • Maintain involvement in industry, brokers, and employee benefits consultants to foster relationships

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Degree in Finance, Investments or business -related degree
  • Post graduate level in Finance, Investment or business-related degree will be preferred.
  • Specific license or registration is an advantage
  • 5-8 years’ experience in sales, business development or relationship management within a financial services environment
  • 2 years management experience.
  • Business/Corporate Investment Banking experience is an added advantage.
  • Relevant Knowledge of collective investment schemes, asset management and/or financial services the legislative impact on the insurance industry.
