MANAGER- STAKEHOLDER RELATIONS
In the MANAGING DIRECTOR’S OFFICE


We are seeking applications from suitably qualified candidates for the mentioned position. The position will be on a five-year performance-based contract and is based at the Head Office in Maseru. The incumbent will be responsible to the Managing Director.


QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum of 7 years relevant experience, at least 4 should have been in a senior managerial position.
  • Post Graduate in Public Relations/ Communications or related field.
  • A course in Corporate Communication will be an added advantage.
  • Work in a conflict-resolution environment with the public.
  • Effective, independent decision maker
  • Excellent public speaker
  • Computer literacy is essential
  • Excellent interpersonal and people skills
  • Methodical and disciplined approach to work
  • Excellent team leader, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Must be fluent in English and Sesotho
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license
  • Personal traits: self-motivated, disciplined, proactive, innovative, high integrity, and ability to work under pressure and beyond normal hours.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
Informed Customers and Public:

  • Participate in crucial TV and radio programs (e.g. clarifying tariff increases, announcing and explaining; electrification/investment program; announcing and clarifying policies and procedures of the Company, etc.);
  • Initiate and undertake crucial public gatherings/ meetings involving local authorities, parliamentarians, police authorities and beneficiaries of electrification projects; Ensure accuracy of customers and public notices;
  • Manages dissemination of relevant information for the benefit of the customers.
  • Ensures LEC is featured in major publications.
  • Information, Education and Communication Material, and Promotional material for LEC

  • Produce publications: Annual report; customer guidebook and Customer Charter and leaflets;
  • Produce and disseminate educational material e.g. leaflets, brochures, and posters;
  • Produce and distribute promotional material e.g. calendars, Christmas cards, and diaries
  • Informed staff:

  • Updating of website and intranet;
  • Facilitate and manage the production and distribution of the external and internal newsletter.
  • Adherence to the standards and expectations of the Company:

  • Design PR strategies, policies and procedures;
  • Monitor and adhere to approved PR and some departmental policies and procedures (e.g. Customer Services and Districts)
  • Resolved problems and customer/public queries

  • Manage the process of public/customers /complaints/
    queries
  • Respond to public/customers complaints;
  • Advise Management on reported queries that may tarnish the corporate image.
  • Media relation

  • Create and maintain good relations with the media.
  • Ensure regular issuance of media releases and articles.
  • Manages media conferences, meetings, and tours.
  • LEC Website, Intranet, and social media pages

  • Monitors information on the intranet and website and ensures they are kept up to date;
  • Manage the social media pages of LEC.
  • Well-managed departmental activities

  • Supervise and manage department;
  • Prepare, manage, and control departmental budget;
  • Prepare and monitor the progress of the departmental corporate plan;
  • Initiate and monitor departmental monthly work plan;
  • Manage departmental resources;
  • nitiate monthly departmental meetings
