rtners In Health is the implementer under the TB Elimination project. The project is aimed at accelerating the reduction in TB incidences and mortality, improve access to highly sensitive and rapid diagnostics, ensure access to quality-assured and patient-centered care and contribute to the reduction of catastrophic costs.
To realize this great mission, PIH-Lesotho has a goal to screen everybody, test all presumptive TB clients, initiate all newly diagnosed TB patients, conduct contact tracing, test all the contacts and initiate all eligible clients on TB preventive Therapy. PIH Lesotho will implement innovative community and facility based interventions in Lebakeng, Tlhanyaku, Bobete, Methalaneng, Manamaneng and in the entire district of Mohale’s Hoek district.

Title: Pharmacy Technician
Reporting to: Nurse in Charge/District Pharmacy Officer

Location: Mootsinyane, Mohale’s Hoek
The role of the Pharmacy Technician is to attend to different areas of the Heath Centre pharmacy, including drug preparation and dispensing, patient/client service, and administrative tasks to minimize stock outs and damage to drugs and other medical supplies.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Be the focal person for pharmacy activities in the clinic.
- Ensure quality standards of drug management are met, which will include warehousing, cold chain management, stock rotation and control, consumption monitoring and ordering.
- Ensure every pharmacy related transactions are captured in the respective recording documents.
- Minimize drug wastage for any reason.
- Receive, review and refill prescriptions, including files for TB patients.
- Monitor internal distribution of health commodities for documentation and accountability
- File any transaction documents appropriately
- Promote rational prescription, dispensing and use of medicines
- Participate in health talks for rational luse of medicines
- Ensure safe waste management of drug and medical supplies
- Engage in training and mentorship of colleagues on pharmacy related issue.
- Ensure regular stock take ta reconcile with the stock cards
- Perform other official duties as required by Nurse in Charge and the District Pharmacy Officer.
- A Diploma in Pharmacy Technology or equivalent.
- 1 to 2 years experience in Pharmacy ad ministration
- Willingness to work under pressure in remote areas of Lesotho
- Computer literacy raquired
