 Job Title : Technical Architect-Paterson Grade C
   Reports to : Head of Information Technology
   Department : Operations, IT
   Location : Head Office, Maseru

JOB PURPOSE
Responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the banking systems’ technical infrastructure and solutions.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Designs and implements technical solutions that meet business and system requirements.
• Ensures that the technical solutions are scalable, reliable, secure, and meet industry standards and regulations.
• Collaborates with business stakeholders and IT teams to understand business needs and identifies opportunities for system improvements.
• Develops and maintains technical documentation.
• Conducts technical evaluations of new technologies and solutions and provides recommendations for implementations.
• Identifies and mitigates technical risks and provides technical guidance to project teams.
• Develops and facilitates implementation of cyber security architecture and strategy that enable compliance of regulations and international standards.
• Designs and develops solutions to support business continuity and mitigate against data loss.
• Designs and facilitates development and implementation of an integration platform for interoperability and orchestration of IT services across different applications within the Bank.
• Develops and maintains relationships with external vendors and technology partners and manages vendor relationships to ensure deliverables meet technical requirements.
• Acts as the lead technical architect for the process transformation within the Bank.
• Provides technical leadership and guidance to software development teams with the ability to dive deep into details and drives executions.
• Troubleshoots difficult technical issues and acts as a problem solver, addressing technical concerns, ideas, and suggestions from stakeholders.
• Familiarity with various operating systems (e.g. Windows, UNIX), middleware (e.g. WebLogic), and databases (e.g. Oracle, MySQL)
• Experience in virtualization and cloud technologies (e.g. VMware)
• Knowledge of selected coding languages (e.g. JavaScript, Java)
• Hands-on experience with software development and systems integration
• Experience in project management and service-oriented architecture (SOA)

Job Requirement

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related fields.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in IT technical architecture and solutions design or related roles, preferably in the banking or financial services industry.

• Problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to lead technical teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Experience in banking or payments will be an added advantage.
• Organizational and leadership skills
