POST TITLE: LECTURER – ENTREPRENEURSHIP SKILLS
SCHOOL/DEPARTMENT: SERVICE

JOB SUMMARY

Under general supervision of the Head of Department, the Lecturer I is responsible for teaching and monitoring of students as well as monitoring them on industrial attachment. Conducts curriculum review, internal examination moderation, and also assists in the overall development of the programme.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The incumbent’s primary role is to teach, facilitate learning, assess and mentor students in accordance with relevant curriculum.

MAIN TASKS

Develop and teach topics on entrepreneurship including topics such as business Planning, Marketing, Finance and Leadership

Advice and mentor students in developing lucrative business plans, navigating challenges of starting businesses and graving a business

Mentor students on Research in Entrepreneurship.

Contribute to the development, promotion and marketing of new programmes / courses and new approaches to teaching and learning.

Facilitate general academic and career development of students

Prepare lesson plans and lecture students in compliance with the LP Annual Academic Plan, the Campus time- table and the LP Quality Management System

Assess students, maintain assessment records and capture marks electronically in compliance with the LP’s policies and procedures.

Create a conducive classroom environment and ensure efficient classroom management and discipline of students

Liaise with the Student Support Officers in providing support interventions to students

Manage and monitor student attendance

Participate in the invigilation of other assessments other than examinations.

Participate in student extra- curricular activities and promote the holistic development of students.

Involve in curriculum review and programme development.

Engage in research activities.

JOB SPECIFICATION

QUALIFICATIONS
Master’s degree in Entrepreneurship OR related field.

EXPERIENCE AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS

• 4 years’ experience in the field.
• Teaching experience at tertiary level will be an added advantage.
