About UsLesotho Network of AIDS Service Organizations (LENASO) was established in 1991 and legally registered in February 1994 under Society’s Act of 1966 (Registration number 94/53). LENASO is nationally recognized indigenous network of Community Based Organizations (CBOs) and support groups implementing Primary Health Care (PHC) services including the epidemic and pandemic diseases such as HIV and AIDS, TB, cancer as well as other chronic and pandemic diseases. LENASO further works on health promotion to improve social behaviour change, Sexual Reproductive Health Rights (SRHR) and prevent Gender Based Violence (GBV) in the community. LENASO has a broad base of presence throughout the country with clear and organized robust structures at national, district and community level. These structures include: various Support Groups of both youth and adults, mother-baby pairs, Mothers in law groups, male support groups, Community ART Groups and Adolescents girls and young Women (AGYW) groups. Currently LENASO is implementing LEAD-R project supported by BAYLOR College of Medicine.
Position SummaryThe Driver will be responsible for ensuring that all passengers/LENASO staff adhere to the transport Policy, Procedures and Processes that govern the Organisation and its assets.
The Driver should log official trips, daily mileage, and must ensure that day to day maintenance of vehicles including oil checks, water, Battery, Brakes and tyres are adhered to, and do minor repairs and report problems that need repairs/services.
The Driver’s responsibility among others include checking regular cleaning of vehicles and transporting staff to their worked related destinations.
Reporting ResponsibilitiesThe Driver reports to the District Community Coordinator
Key Responsibilities- Pre-inspect vehicle before use.
- The driver shall oversee daily operations for Field and Office trips
- Ensure proper documenting and record keeping that involves filling of log books
- Plan trips and routes based on traffic conditions.
- Listens to traffic and weather reports to stay updated.
- Ensure timely Fuel Requests.
- Plan and process requests for Vehicle maintenance.
- The driver shall at times be assigned to perform other organizational duties.
- 5 years’ experience driving professionally.
- Having worked in an NGO is preferred.
- Valid, current driving license with a clean driving record (no accidents)
- Good working knowledge of all major local road networks.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
