The National University of Lesotho invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for the above position:

Minimum Qualifications and Requirements
The applicant must:

  • Hold a minimum of a Master’s Degree in Educational Research, Measurement and Assessment OR equivalent.
    Added advantages:
  • Have relevant teaching experience at tertiary level;
  • Have published work in the relevant field.
  • A PhD in Educational Research, Measurement and Assessment OR equivalent
  • Duties and responsibilities:
    A successful candidate will be expected to:
     Teach relevant courses at undergraduate and post graduate levels.
     Undertake research and publish in the relevant area of specialisation, and
     Perform any other duties as shall be determined from time to time by the Department and Faculty.

    Skills and abilities:
     Strong background in psychometric theory and application, including knowledge of IRT, CTT, statistics, test development procedures, and research design.
     Advanced knowledge of measurement topics such as equating, scaling, generalizability theory, Bayesian methodology, or standard setting is desirable.
     Desirable knowledge and/or experience in natural language processing, automated item generation, process data analytic methods, and assessment FOR, OF and AS learning approaches.
     Excellent computer skills and a working knowledge of statistical software (e.g., JMETRIK, DIMTEST, BILOG, STATA, R, PYTHON).
     Excellent oral and written communication skills.
     Ability to identify errors and solve problems.
     Excellent interpersonal skills, including working closely and successfully with individuals from various professional and educational backgrounds.

    Employment Type:
    Permanent and pensionable for locals and two years renewable contract for expatriates

    The University offers salaries and other benefits commensurate with qualifications and experience.
