Job Title: Teaching Assistant

Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to provide essential behind-the-scenes support for our online English and Math instruction. This role is crucial in ensuring that classes run smoothly and efficiently while allowing the lead teacher to focus on direct instruction. The ideal candidate will also assist in marking assignments in American English, ensuring high standards of assessment.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in preparing lesson plans and instructional materials for English and Math classes.

• Grade assignments, particularly in American English, and provide constructive feedback to students.

• Manage assignment resets and ensure due dates are met.

• Oversee student activities and monitor performance to support their learning.

• Conduct data entry and maintain spreadsheets using Excel and other software.

• Communicate effectively with students and families regarding coursework and expectations.

• Attend meetings to discuss curriculum development and review.

• Complete any other tasks assigned by the lead teacher.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Education, English, Linguistics, or a related field preferred.

• High proficiency in American English (C1 level or above) demonstrated through standardized tests (e.g., IELTS, TOEFL).

• Familiarity with assessment criteria for marking writing and speaking components.

• Proficiency in using laptops, spreadsheets (Excel), and other educational technology.

• Previous experience in teaching, tutoring, or educational support is advantageous.

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote environment.
