Position: Sales and Distribution Manager
Department: Sasai Econet Financial Services (SEFS)
Reports To: General Manager – SEFS
Main Purpose:
To lead sales operations, set best practices, manage distribution ecosystem, and identify opportunities for more efficient operational processes.
Major Tasks:
- Responsible for setting up and maintaining the distribution for EcoCash agents
- Assists to develop negotiation strategies and positions by studying integration of new venture with company strategies and operations; examining risks and potentials; estimating partner’s needs and goals
- Helps to screen potential Agents by analyzing market strategies, deal requirements, potential, and financials; evaluating options, resolving internal priorities; recommending improvements
- Designs and implements agent distribution network with respect to maximum coverage and ensures availability of Float without any stock out situations.
- Monitors Training done by distribution staff and Merchant and payroll specialists through Forums and ensures they provide overall direction for Mobile Financial Services (MFS) by analyzing changes in the competitive landscape
- Develops, communicates, builds support for, and implementing Agents and Merchants business strategies, plans, and practices for Agent, Merchants and Payroll Acquisitions and Customer Registrations
- Analyzes trends, costs, and forecasts and incorporating them into business plans
- Develop & own the business plan to drive subscriber penetration, revenue growth and brand leadership in the regions
- Drive implementation of agreed business plan in sales, marketing development to meet business goals for the regions
- Responsible for budget planning and Monitoring of budgeted KPI’s
- Assist the team to manage BA’s leads
- Understands business roadmap, product & service rollout plans, regulatory and external environment
- Implements agreed estimation and review processes
- Ensures confidence and customer satisfaction amongst customers, agents within the regions
- Designs and executes mobile money services market impacting activities
- Develop a strong and efficient distribution mix to ensure market penetration, quality of service & compliance with regulatory requirement
- Defines parameters and plan for Agents, merchant, Payroll sign up to create an effective eco Cash use in urban and rural markets
- Ensures transparency to business stakeholders via data sharing and activity tracking
- Works closely with the various departments of Marketing, Finance and MNO (prepaid/ retail) business being most important
- Keeps the entire colleagues well informed on their progress on various distribution parameters.
- Keeps abreast of the latest happenings in the industry
- Engages & coordinates with the Regional Aggregators to ensure seamless functioning
- Maintains visibility at each of the touch points for ecoCash across and alternate channels
- Optimize utilization of funds for visibility, promotions and trade engagement
- Continuous improvement in operational quality and high level of customer satisfaction.
Educational Qualifications and Related Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Sales, Marketing, Financie, Business Management, Business Studies, Administration
- Good understanding of financial principles, financial ratios, can interpret standard financial statements
- Good understanding of the Lesotho market, subscriber preferences and subscriber trends
- 4-6 years’ experience Mobile Money or a similarly regulated industry is desirable
Knowledge Areas & Competencies:
- Excellent business analysis skills
- Strong understanding of economic norms, trends and implications, both for mobile and financial services.
- Must possess an inquisitive and creative mind to understand and resolve EcoCash customer queries.
- Must be independent and self-directed but able to work and lead a team of creative individuals.
- Must be able to work creatively within a budget and use innovation to find ways of more effectively managing resources.
- Strong business knowledge, understanding of a variety of business practices, and familiarity with the company’s industry.
- Must be able to collaborate with executives, creative teams, research and development, and product development teams.
- Must have excellent interpersonal skills.
- Must be willing to take calculated risks and manage expectations of both internal development teams and potential and existing customers.
