Alliance Insurance Company – Employee Benefits has a vacancy for position of Medical Officer. To support Employee benefits and Life insurance. The incumbent will be responsible including to perform medical tests for members, send medical samples to the laboratories, keep records of all underwriting information and evaluate the results and send reports to reinsurers.
Key Responsibility Areas;
· Request a list of members to be underwritten from the administration team every month.
· Communicate with members who would like to do tests and set appointments to take their samples.
· Send the medical samples to the approved medical laboratories for analysis.
· Request medical results from the laboratories evaluate them.
· Send the evaluation report to the reinsurers for further evaluation and send the final decision to the administration team to liaise with the members.
· Maintain good communication channels and relationships with the medical laboratories and the reinsurers.
Required Qualification, Experience and Competencies
· Bachelor Degree in health related field, such as health care administration, health Care management, health information Management
· Medical knowledge: the ability to understand medical terminology and the medical field in general. Medical underwriters use this skill to assess the risks of medical insurance and determine if an applicant is eligible for coverage.
· Understand the medical history of an applicant and determine if they’re a good fit for the company’s insurance.
