ADVERTISEMENT FOR A LECTURER POSITION IN MULTIMEDIA PRODUCTION

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the position of a Lecturer in the Bachelor of Journalism and Media Studies Programme, Faculty of Humanities, National University of Lesotho.
Minimum Qualifications and Requirements
A suitable candidate should have the following:
Master’s degree in multimedia production. Possession of a PhD will be an added advantage;
at least three (3) years’ teaching experience at tertiary level;
at least three (3) years’ working experience in multimedia production sectors;
ability to teach a broad range of courses regarding multimedia;
competency in media industry standards, regulations and professional ethics;
demonstrate familiarity with multimedia technologies, including social media applications.
engage in teamwork, partnership and network building;
mentoring and leadership skills.
Duties and Responsibilities
teaching competently at an undergraduate level;
setting tests, examinations and course work;
administering, invigilating and marking tests and examinations;
compiling and grading examination results;
guiding and advising students on their academic performance;
conducting and disseminating research findings through conferences, seminars and publications;
supervising undergraduate research projects;
carrying out official administrative duties as directed by relevant authority;
contributing to the University and wider society through community service;
conducting practical and studio work sessions;
participating in curriculum development and review of the department programmes;
representing the department in the University bodies and committees.

The University offers salaries and benefits commensurate with qualifications and experience.
EMPLOYMENT TYPE
Permanent and pensionable/gratuitable terms for Locals, and two Years’ Contract for Non-Locals
