Lecturer in Computer Science
The National University of Lesotho invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for the position of above.
The Department offers the following degrees: B.Sc. Information Systems, B.Sc. Computer Science, B.Eng. Computer Systems and Networks (with Cisco Systems Certification Programme: CCNA 1, 2, 3 & 4) and general B.Sc. Computer Science double major with subjects which include: Mathematics, Statistics and Physics. The department also runs two computer literacy courses: for science based programmes
and for non-science programmes.
Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:
A Master’s Degree in Computer Science (locals) and PhD in Computer Science (non-locals).
Teaching (tutoring) experience at a tertiary will be an added advantage.
PhD in a relevant field will be an added advantage.
Duties:
Undertake teaching at undergraduate levels.
Initiate and /or participate in research programmes and programme development within the department.
Perform other duties, including administrative, as would be required by the department. Must be able to teach main stream Computer Science courses which among others include: Discrete Mathematics, Theory of Computation and Compiler Construction.
Must be able to teach all programming courses at any level.
Remuneration:
The University offers salaries and other benefits commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Employment type:
Permanent and pensionable/gratuitable for local and a two-year contract for non-locals.
