Overview

The Baylor College of Medicine Children’s Foundation – Lesotho (BCMCFL), is the result of a public-private partnership between Baylor College of Medicine International Paediatric AIDS Initiative (BIPAI) and the Government of Lesotho, and is a legal, non-profit/tax exempt organization registered in Lesotho. BCMCFL provides free paediatric and family-centred HIV and tuberculosis prevention, care, treatment and support, serving thousands of children and families affected by HIV, TB, or other child health conditions.

Comprehensive High Impact Community Based HIV Prevention, Testing and Treatment Initiation for Sustained Epidemic Control in Lesotho under the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (CoHip SEC) is a five-year CDC funded activity that will be implemented by BCMCFL to provide comprehensive and evidence-based community HIV prevention, testing and treatment initiation for the general population and other at-risk groups such as youth, men, migrant and factory workers, as well as building capacity of local organizations, civil society organizations and community systems in implementing data-driven programming. The project is implemented in Berea, Leribe, Quthing, and Qacha’s Nek Districts.

BCMCFL is looking for qualified candidates to fill in the following positions available on a full-time, Fixed-Term Contract basis.

Position: Driver *2 Based at Quthing & Qacha’s Nek

Duties and ResponsibilitiesPosition Overview:

The Driver will provide transportation support to community health teams and supervision and monitoring of visits for LEADR personnel.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

Transport project staff to service delivery sites as requested.

Adhere to all BCMCFL transportation policies and procedures, including utilization of the vehicle only for work-related activities

Keep the vehicles clean.

Keep track of service, mileage, and maintenance of the vehicles

Check regularly the road fitness of the vehicles (tires, oil, water, etc.)

Observe and keep traffic laws (e.g. speed limit, traffic lights)

Perform other tasks assigned by the administration

Educational Qualifications, Work Experience and Key Competencies

Driver’s License (CODE B)

Possession of Code C driver’s license and defensive driving will be an added advantage

Must be in possession of Public Driving Permit

Minimum three (3) years’ experience working in non-governmental organizations

Experience driving in hard-to-reach terrain is an added advantage

Must have clean driving history of a minimum 5 years accident free

Willing to work beyond normal working hours
