Overview

The Baylor College of Medicine Children’s Foundation – Lesotho The Baylor College of Medicine Children’s Foundation – Lesotho (BCMCFL), is the result of a public-private partnership between Baylor College of Medicine International Paediatric AIDS Initiative (BIPAI) and the Government of Lesotho, and is a legal, non-profit/tax exempt organization registered in Lesotho. BCMCFL provides free paediatric and family-centred HIV and tuberculosis prevention, care, treatment, and support, serving thousands of
children and families affected by HIV, TB, or other child health conditions.


Lesotho/Local Entities Advancing and Driving Health Responses (LEADR) is a multi-year project funded by USAID providing effective decentralized, differentiated, and integrated facility and community services to maximize equitable access to comprehensive HIV, TB, and COVID-19 interventions through a primary health care approach to ensure that clients have access to holistic services. Its goal is to support the Government of Lesotho to deliver high-quality integrated prevention, care and treatment services that will sustain the reduction in HIV, TB, and COVID-19 transmission, morbidity, and mortality in Lesotho through the implementation of a comprehensive, person-centered approach. The project is implemented in Butha Buthe and Mokhotlong districts and at the BCMCFL Maseru Centre of Excellence (COE) and Mohale’s Hoek Satellite Center of Excellence (SCOE).

Duties and ResponsibilitiesPosition Overview:

The Driver will provide transportation support to community health teams and supervision and monitoring of visits for LEADR personnel.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Transport project staff to service delivery sites as requested.
  • Adhere to all BCMCFL transportation policies and procedures, including utilization of the vehicle only for work-related activities
  • Keep the vehicles clean.
  • Keep track of service, mileage, and maintenance of the vehicles
  • Check regularly the road fitness of the vehicles (tires, oil, water, etc.)
  • Observe and keep traffic laws (e.g. speed limit, traffic lights)
  • Perform other tasks assigned by the administration
  • Educational Qualifications, Work Experience and Key Competencies
  • Driver’s License (CODE B)
  • Possession of Code C driver’s license and defensive driving will be an added advantage
  • Must be in possession of Public Driving Permit
  • Minimum three (3) years’ experience working in non-governmental organizations
  • Experience driving in hard-to-reach terrain is an added advantage
  • Must have clean driving history of a minimum 5 years accident free
  • Willing to work beyond normal working hours
