mothers2mothers (m2m) is an African Primary Health Care organisation that employs women living with HIV as community health workers across 10 African nations. These “Mentor Mothers” deliver integrated health services at clinics and in communities to ensure everyone, everywhere, has access to the services they need to be healthy and stay in care. Over the next five years, this proven, peer-led model is being scaled up to double down on ending HIV, as well as to tackle new health challenges and reach more people – all with the aim of building a fairer, healthier future. The employment of local women as community health workers means that we are delivering a model that prioritises healthcare for families who need it most, delivered by women who know them best. Since its creation in 2001, m2m has created jobs for nearly 12,000 women living with HIV in sub-Saharan Africa and, together, they have reached over 15M people with critical health services and education. In 2021, m2m reached over 1.6M people across 10 African nations, including 402,616 adolescents (ages 10-19) – 51% more than the year before. m2m also advanced the Global Goals of ending HIV/AIDS by 2030 – by achieving virtual elimination of mother-to-child transmission of HIV among its enrolled clients for the eighth consecutive year, and meeting all of the ambitious UNAIDS Fast-Track Targets among its clients four years ahead of the 2026 target date.
Job Description
At the field level, the Bokamoso Education Mentor Supervisor will provide technical successful implementation of the education activities. S/he is expected to supervisor Educational Mentors and work closely with local authorities and other stakeholders including other Bokamoso implementing partners. The Education Mentor Supervisor is responsible for compilation or field report for submission to the Education Coordinator and provides supportive supervision to Education Mentors. Job Requirements
Support the technical implementation of Education Activities
- Coordinate and supervise the Bokamoso project education team (field Supervisors and Education Mentors) during implementation of all education activities
- To offer technical support to all Bokamoso project education team both at district and community level
- To liaise with all stakeholders such as Ministry of Education and Training and Ministry of Social Development for Collaboration and networking
- Monitor and support the implementation of all Bokamoso activities by conducting regular site visits
- Provide guidance and mentorship to Field Supervisor to ensure effective implementation of Education plans
- Facilitate development and implementation of weekly and monthly plans by Education Mentor Supervisors for effective implementation of education activities
- To represent Bokamoso education component in all education related forums
- Submit timely narrative reports including success stories for reporting purposes
M & E and Quality Assurance and Quality Improvement
- Capture Education components data and submit to Education Coordinator
- Ensure that the data shared for capturing is of high quality, appropriate and timely submitted
Administration, Financial management and HR support activities
- Undertake performance appraisals for Education Mentors
- Facilitate and evaluate individual Education Mentors and identify training needs and facilitate their on-site training
- Collaborate with HR to ensure that all disciplinary issues are managed accurately and timeously
- Conduct regular Field supportive supervisory visits through routine travel with the district placed at
- Representation, stakeholder engagement and relationship management
- Establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with education stakeholders at community level
- Participate in relevant stakeholder forums and provide feedback on progress within the project.
