Position: Processing Administrative and Holding Room Controller
Job Description/Purpose
PURPOSE: To ensure smooth operations within the fish processing facility, focusing on inventory management, compliance, and administrative support.
All these activities must be in adherence to HACCP, FSSC 22000 and BAP international certification requirements and in line with the
food safety culture at Sanlei.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
• Maintain dispatch and logistical requirements for the farm that are compliant to international best management practice, HACCP,
required international certification, and aligned with the Food Safety Culture at Sanlei
• Produce best quality product, continually strive to improve product quality, record product quality and report thereof.
• Supervision and coordination of staff, including skills development in conjunction with the Processing Manager.
• Create, implement, and maintain a food safety culture in conjunction with the food safety officer and Processing Manager
• Ensure and maintain good stock control on processed stock and consumables with daily updates and reporting thereof to the Processing
Manager.
• Maintain and update processing data daily, ensure daily Processing reports are completed and shared, and keep this information accessible. Compile weekly reports for the processing meeting
• Oversee the holding room to ensure fish are stored and handled under optimal conditions, maintaining product quality and safety standards.
Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma in Food Technology or Food Science or Business Administration
- Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in a similar role within food processing, warehousing, or supply chain operations
- Background in administrative tasks such as data entry, reporting and documentation
- Knowledge of compliance standards in food safety or processing environments, ensuring proper handling, storage, and reporting
Skills competencies & requirements
- Certificate in Food Safety or HACCP will be an added advantage
- Proficiency in MS Office Suit and experience with inventory management systems Accountability.
- Exceptional record keeping skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Observant.
- Integrity and honesty.
- Fluency in English and Sesotho, written and spoken.
- Willing and able to work in ALL weather conditions.
- Vibrant and energetic, able to inspire a team
- Communicate clearly with all members of the team from senior management to general workers
