Job Title: Grants and Partnerships Officer (GPO)
Job Summary: The Grants and Partnerships Officer is responsible for overseeing the grant lifecycle from application to post-award management. This role involves identifying funding opportunities, writing grant proposals, ensuring compliance with grant requirements, managing budgets, and tracking the outcomes of funded projects. The Grants and Partnerships Officer will work closely with internal teams (programs and finance & admin) and external stakeholders.

Location: Hlotse, Leribe
Main Roles and Responsibilities:
Grant and Partner Research and Identification
o Identify and research new funding opportunities from government agencies, foundations, and private organizations that align with the organization’s mission and objectives.
o Maintain a calendar of grant deadlines and submission dates.
Grant Proposal Development
o Lead the writing, reviewing and submission process of proposals.
o Collaborate with program staff, finance, and leadership to gather necessary information for applications, including budgets, project timelines, and outcome objectives.
o Ensure proposals align with the funder’s guidelines and expectations.
Grant Compliance and Reporting
o Ensure all funded projects comply with grant agreements, including the use of funds, timelines, and reporting requirements.
o Collaborate with program staff, finance, and leadership to prepare regular progress and financial reports for funders.
o Bring creativity and innovation to reports for a variety of funders.
o Ensure proper grant documentation such as signed agreements, approved budgets, grant amendments and grant compliance checklist are maintained at all times.
Post-Award Grant Management
o Coordinate project kick-offs, including developing and managing grant implementation plans.
o Monitor project performance, track key deliverables, and communicate with internal stakeholders to ensure the successful completion of grant-funded projects.
o Serve as the primary point of contact with grantors during the award period, addressing questions and issues promptly.
Financial and Budget Management
o Collaborate with the finance team to develop grant budgets and ensure compliance with financial reporting requirements.
o Monitor budget vs. actual expenditures to ensure proper allocation of grant funds.
Internal and External Collaboration
o Coordinate with program managers, finance, and other departments to ensure grant proposals and reports reflect accurate data and project needs.
o Develop and maintain a detailed grant matrix.
o Build and maintain relationships with external funding partners and donors.
o Represent Help Lesotho at partnership development opportunities.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, business administration, public policy, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
Minimum of 3-5 years experience in grant writing, budget management, and grants administration.
Proven experience in securing funding for NGOs.
Strong understanding of financial management principles as they relate to grant funding.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills (English and Sesotho).
High level of attention to detail, especially regarding compliance and reporting requirements.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Proficiency in grant management software and tools is a plus.
