JOB TITLE: NURSE EDUCATOR
RESPORTS TO: PRINCIPAL NURSE EDUCATOR
GRADE: H
JOB SPECIFICATION
He/she will:
- Prepare lesson plans, teach students, and record lessons in appropriate registers.
- Intensively prepare the students to be able to work with communities
- Assess students continuously in class and in the clinical area through tests, return demonstrations, assignment etc.
- Supervise students in the clinical area
- Participate in curricula review activities
- Be a resource person for students and other personnel
- Attend CHAL-NTI Nurse Educators’ meetings regularly which include intensive travel to mountainous areas of Lesotho
- Must be prepared to work beyond working hours and business days
- Engage in research
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE - Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery and BA Degree in Nursing Education or Post Graduate Diploma in Nursing Education or BSC in Nursing with Nursing Education
- Must have at least two (2) years working experience in the clinical area Mentoring nursing students will be an added advantage
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
- Computer literacy (Microsoft Word, Excel, Power point and internet)
- Have strong verbal and written communication skills
- Must be innovative, organized, and self-motivated
- Must have report writing skills
- Must be a team member who is able to contribute positively
- Must have no criminal record
PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- Current registration with the Lesotho Nursing Council (the following qualifications need to be registered with LNC: Nursing, Midwifery and Nursing Education)
- Membership to a professional association
