POSITION: Education Mentor x50

Reporting directly to Education Mentor Supervisor, the Education Mentor will implement Bokamoso education activities such as LBSE and education bursaries, including referrals for other services.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

• Routine Service Delivery in Educatin Activities Implementation

• Implementation of all education activities at the community council level

• Collection of LBSE Data and Bursaries data and capturing of LBSE data (enrolment and monitoring data)

• To ensure that all Bokamoso Education Components activities, induding collaborating with schools, are implemented out with high quality

• Report on a daily basis data collected from schools to the Field Supervisor.

• Identify and report OVCs and AGYW in need of Health and Social services for referral

• Establish and facilitate educational club activities to ensure improved academic performance. progression and completion of KB Bursaries Beneficiaries

• Initiate and Facilitate career guidance sessions to all KB Bursaries Beneficiaries

• Data capturing and reporting at community level

• Weekly data capturing and submission of repots.

• Compilation of the monthly reports to the Education Mentor Supervisor

• Provide the bi-weekly report on activities conducted and improvements noticed in the program

• Monthly submission of the time sheet to the line Manager

• Appropriate completion of the monitoring tools during the education activities sessions

Representation and relationship management

• Coordinate and manage relationships with relevant stakeholders including students and parents

• Participate in community stakeholder forums and provide feedback on progress within the project

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Lesotho O levels/Form 5, Tertiary education will be an added advantage and/or 2+ years’ experience in similar position preferably OVC/DREAMS Programmes

• Possess demonstrated commitment with schools and children. Professional or personal experience supporting school children

• Experienced in implementing community based projects

REQUIRE COMPETENCIES

• Fluency in English and Sesotho language

• Ability to read and write in English and Sesotho

• Strong numeracy skills

• Ability to travel across the District

• Good listening skills and empathy towards others

• Influences teamwork

• Good interpersonal skills

• Responsible and maturity when dealing with sensitive psychosocial issues

• High level of integrity

• Ability to work independently
