JOB TITLE: Registrar of Medical, Dental & Pharmacy Council
RESPONSIBLE TO: President of Lesotho Medical, Dental & Pharmacy Council
LOCATION: Headquarters of Lesotho Medical, Dental & Pharmacy Council
JOB SUMMARY
To oversee optimal performance of the operations and functions of the council of Lesotho Medical, Dental and Pharmacy Council as spelt out in the statutory framework. Ensuring implementation of the Council meeting resolutions; development and maintenance of statutory rules, regulations and policies and management of stake-holder relations; management of administrative responsibilities of the office and ensuring smooth running of the organization.
PRIMARY TASKS/KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
PRIMARY TASK: MAINTANANCE AND CONTROL OF REGISTER OF HEALTH PRACTITIONER RECORDS
1.1 Develop index registers and ensure that they have the following information.
1.2 Updates information upon movement of members
2.1. Facilitates process of registration and application and selection for interns
2.2 Monitors performance of interns
2.3. Ensure intern placement and rotation
2.4. Ensure issuance of Certificate of service to interns
3.1. Facilitates filling of forms by members in accordance with the regulatory framework.
3.2. Facilitates subscription payments
4.1. Maintains upkeep of all records for the council in an order prescribed by the law
4.2 Ensures electronic back up for all information
4.3 Filing of audited financial reports each financial year
5.1. Maintains sound public relations with all stakeholders in the health profession as well as other health authorities, Ministries/Departments and Health institutions.
5.2. Promote and uphold a positive image of the Council through publications via web media and or print media
PRIMARY TASK: OVERSEE SECRETARIAL AND ADMINISTRATIVE RESPONSIBILITES OF THE COUNCIL
1.1. Develops meetings calendar, agenda and ensures dissemination
1.2. Maintains meeting records by scripting minutes and disseminating
1.3. Ensures Implementation of decisions and resolutions of meetings
6.1. Plans, organizes and monitors day to day running of the Council Office
6.2. Responsible for preparing the annual budget and ledger books of the Council
6.3. Management of facilities and maintenance
6.4. Hire and manage administrative staff
6.5. Prepare periodic reports to the Council members
6.6. Ensures adherence to policies and regulations

JOB SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION
MBBS/MD/MBCHB/MBBCh MBA in health, MPH, Masters in health-related fi eld with minimum 10 years relevant experience 5 of which should be within NGO and Civil Society Environment and in a senior or Managerial position.
MEDICOLEGAL, Public health Administration, Health Administration experience is an added advantage.
