Applications are invited from suitably qualified Lesotho Nationals for the above-mentioned position. The position will be on a five-year fixed term contract and is tenable at the Head Office in Maseru. The incumbent will be responsible to the Head of Operations

BSc/BEng in Electrical Engineering
????????????????????????????????????????????, ???????????????????????????????????????? ???????????? ???????????????????? ????????????????????????????????????????????????:
• Minimum of eight 8 years experience in an electrical operations environment of which at least three 3 years must be at a senior level.
• Must have extensive experience in network performance monitoring management and network control management.
• Sound knowledge and understanding of all electrical plant systems, network design and operation
• Strong business acumen

The incumbent will be responsible for performing the following:
• Developing and managing implementation of departmental plans, policies, standard operating procedures and translation there- of into operational plans in alignment with corporate strategic objectives.
• Managing network operations on the transmission and distribution national grid optimally to ensure high system availability while maintaining quality of supply within regulatory standards
• Developing long term network plans on forecasted power demands and optimize the dispatch of available sources.
• Monitoring performance metrics and prepare reports for senior management, identifying areas for improvement and proposing actionable solutions.
• Leading and mentoring a diverse team of professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
• Reviewing engineering designs, operations and maintenance activities to minimise occurrence of network incidents and ensure reliability and safety of network.
• Managing the power system configuration for reduction of technical losses and maximise power system availability.
• Leading staff in the department to ensure they are well developed, empowered and achieve their objectives in line with the strategic goals of the LEC
• Initiating and implementing strategic projects for network automation to reduce operational costs.
• Developing, managing and monitoring the Operations departmental budget to ensure all activities are implemented within the approved budget and resources are allocated efficiently.
• Investigating network incidents and timeous preparation of technical analysis reports with recommendations to avoid recurrence.
