Terms of Reference (ToR) for Social Media Influencer
Background
Help Lesotho is a non-governmental organization operating in the Leribe, Thaba Tseka, Butha-Buthe, and Quthing districts, reaching over 20,000 beneficiaries annually through education, psychosocial support, leadership development, and programs focused on HIV/AIDS and
gender equity. With funding from UNFPA, the organization is implementing the Promoting Inclusive Sexual and Reproductive Health Services Project, aimed at enhancing awareness and access to comprehensive Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) services for
adolescents, young people, and key populations.
To amplify the impact of this initiative, Help Lesotho seeks to engage a Social Media Influencer to create and disseminate compelling content tailored to these target audiences. This influencer will play a vital role in promoting project objectives and raising awareness of SRHR issues
among young people and key populations
Objectives
The primary objective of engaging a Social Media Influencer is to create impactful content that on the following aspects;
Promoting access to quality Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights (SRHR) services including utilization of the existing referral system;
Engagement of men in challenging harmful cultural and societal norms promoting Sexual and Gender Based Violence (SGBV) and encouraging men to support families to access health care services; and
Promoting the consistent and correct usage of both male and female condoms.
The content will target both primary (adolescents, young people, key populations) and secondary audiences (gatekeepers, opinion leaders, caregivers, parents, health care service providers, local leaders, and the community).
Scope of Work
3.1 Deliverables
The Social Media Influencer is expected to deliver the following:
Production of five short videos that adhere to quality standards for disseminating information related to the SRHR components.
o Content must be intentional in promoting access to inclusive SRHR services for adolescents and young people, including key populations.
o Messaging should actively challenge harmful cultural and societal norms that perpetuate sexual and gender-based violence.
3.2 Reporting
The Social Media Influencer will report directly to the Project Field Officer and collaborate closely with the Help Lesotho team to ensure alignment with project goals.
Qualifications
4.1 Required Expertise
Strong knowledge on Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE).
Ability to develop content aimed at social and behavioural change, preferably within the context of Lesotho.
Proven track record of social media followership.
4.2 Skills
Proven ability to create engaging, impactful content for social media platforms.
Strong understanding of SRHR issues, particularly as they relate to adolescents and young populations.
Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
Engagement Terms
The Social Media Influencer will be engaged as a vendor, not as an employee, of Help Lesotho.
Resources necessary for the completion of the assignment will be provided by Help Lesotho.
Timeline
The assignment is expected to be completed by 30th November 2024.
Budget
Details regarding the budget and payment terms will be discussed and agreed upon before the commencement of the engagement.
