The African Union Development Agency invites applicants who are citizens of African Union Member States for the post of Finance Officer Grants.
Under the supervision of the Senior Finance Officer- Grants & Budget, the Finance Officer Grants will provide expert support in grants & budget management, project audit, financial reporting, processing of payments and settlement advances, bank & accounts reconciliations, and disbursement of funds to implementing entities and contribute to the smooth running of the grants administration.
Required Skills and Competencies
Experience in managing donor-funded projects.Experience working within a non-profit environment and knowledge of non-profit accounting principles. Expert in accounting, banking, budgeting and financial management.Good understanding of accounting principles and standards and familiarity with IPSAS.Certification in ACCA, CPA, and CIMA will be an added advantage.Experience in project audits, risk management and internal control.Good understanding of treasury management and liquidity management.Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, as well as a good understanding of office practices and procedures.High level of integrity and accountability, flexible approaches to work coupled with enthusiasm and commitment.Ability to perform multiple tasks and work under pressure with a wide range of individuals and institutions.Able to work under minimal supervision, be proactive, initiative, and with sound judgment.Excellent communication and writing skills.High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and thoroughness.Maintain confidentiality at the highest level at all times.Creative thinking and problem-solving skills.Good analytical, planning, and organisational skillsProficiency in the use of computer applications, MS Office, especially MS Excel and SAP ERP.Education and Experience:
Candidates must possess a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field and one (1) year of progressive responsibility in a busy finance office managing donor-funded projects in an international or multinational organisation.
