CIRCULAR NO. 4 OF 2024.

Applications are invited from suitably qualified local candidates for the following positions that are tenable in the Ministry of Agriculture, Food Security and Nutrition:

MINISTRY : AGRICULTURE AND FOOD SECURITY

DIVISION  : ADMINISTRATION

TITLE : DRIVER (4)

GRADE : C

RESPONSIBLE TO : TRANSPORT OFFICER

LOCATION: CROPS, LAC, MOKHOTLONG, QUTHING

JOB SUMMARY

Under the general supervision of the Transport Officer, the Driver will be responsible for driving Departmental staff on official trips, collection and delivery of official materials, provision of basic maintenance to the vehicles and reporting of all servicing requirements to ensure road worthiness.

DUTIES

Provide driving services to Departmental staff on official matters as required.

Collects and delivers official materials as may be required

Checks safety of vehicles to ensure roadworthiness on daily basis

Updates logbook of vehicle use on daily basis for proper recording of mileage

Reports periodic servicing needs to the Transport Officer in advance to ensure proper handling of the vehicle.

Washes the vehicle outside and inside on daily basis as to keep cleanliness.

1. JOB SPCIFICATION:Education:

COSC OR GCE PLUS Three (3) years working experience as a Driver.

Knowledge and Skills

• Valid driver’s licence obtained at the minimum period of two (2) years.
• Excellent driving record
• Knowledge of vehicle maintenance
• Knowledge of both official languages
• Must have passed driving assessment test

A CERTIFICATE IN PROFICIENCY DRIVING WOULD BE AN ADDED ADVANTAGE.
