Thaba Bosiu Cultural Village invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for the position of Information Technology (IT) Officer.
Purpose of the Job
To manage and maintain all technology-related systems and infrastructure at Thaba Bosiu Cultural Village, including the museum, restaurant, amphitheatre, and other facilities. The role ensures that the village’s IT infrastructure supports daily operations, enhances visitor experience, and improves operational efficiency. This includes overseeing hardware and software management, data security, network
administration, and the integration of technology into cultural, event, and hospitality functions.
Essential Requirements:
Qualifications and Experience:
- Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA, Cisco, Microsoft Certified Professional) are a plus. - Experience:
At least 5 years of experience in IT management or IT support, ideally within a hospitality, cultural, or tourism setting.
Key Competencies
o Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, networking, and systems administration.
o Familiarity with POS systems, ticketing systems, and event management software.
o Experience with cybersecurity and data protection practices.
o Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
o Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical staff.
o Knowledge of audiovisual (AV) systems for events is an advantage.
