Situated in the Leribe district; Lesotho, Phelisanang Bophelong HIV/AIDS Network, herein referred to as “PB”, is a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) and a Community-Based Organization (CBO) of People Living with HIV and AIDS (PLWHA) established in 2004. PB’s core mandate is to improve quality of life for PLWHA, Most at risk populations, Key and other vulnerable populations through universal access to Prevention, Treatment, Care, and Support services.

The organization reaches beneficiaries with services ranging from Prevention of TB/HIV and AIDS to impact mitigation through Prevention, Support, and Protection services, Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR), Gender Based Violence (GBV) responses, Livelihoods and Advocacy interventions at the community level. PB invites suitably qualified candidates to apply for the following positions under the USAID Sustaining Epidemic Control through Unified Prevention (SECURE) Activity. PB’s scope of work under SECURE is to improve coverage of non-discriminatory, client centred, integrated services across the continuum of care for key populations.

Reporting to the Senior Key Populations Program Coordinator, the Project Officer will coordinate comprehensive HIV package for female sex workers and priority populations in Maseru district. This individual will manage the project team, which includes a Nurse, peer staff, and an M&E Assistant to ensure effective delivery of combination prevention services to female sex workers and priority populations. The Project Officer will foster robust collaborations with DHMT, health facilities and essential stakeholders. The specific roles and responsibilities of this position include:

???????????????????????????? ????????????????????????????????????????????????: Oversee the planning, implementation, and monitoring comprehensive HIV package for FSW and PP in Maseru district. Management of the project site activities and coordinate high execution of project interventions;

????????????????????????????????????????????????’ ????????????????????????????????????????: Engagement and communication with DHMT, health facilities and partners to align on project goals and activities. Continuously nurture relationships and explore opportunities for joint initiatives to improve on programming;

???????????????????????????????? ???????????????????????????????? ???????????? ???????????????????????????????????? ???????????????????????????? ???????? ???????????????? ????????????????????: Regular training and mentorship to enhance the skills and knowledge of peer educators, navigators and lay counsellors in implementation of activities. Provide ongoing support, guidance, and feedback to ensure the peer educators, navigators and lay counsellors are effective. Foster a culture of teamwork and open communication among the peer educators, navigators, and lay counsellor. Regular review program data and client feedback to identify areas for improvement and address challenges;

Coordinate with the nurse to provide integrated HIV services at the drop-in centre, outreach and community level. Oversee community based social and behaviour change communication activities. Coordinate the project team to provide confidential HIV services for female sex workers and priority populations. Support the project team to implement tailored interventions to address the unique needs and vulnerabilities of female sex workers and priority populations. Coordinate the teams on referrals and follow-up to support female sex workers and priority population in accessing comprehensive HIV services. Support advocacy and for the rights and well-being of female sex workers;

????????????????????????????????????, ???????????????????????????????????? ???????????? ???????????????????????????????????????? ???????????????????????????? ????????????????????????????????: Regularly review and adjust project strategies based on performance data and stakeholder feedback. Monitoring and evaluation to track project progress and impact. Submit regular reports on project activities, outputs, and outcomes to stakeholders. Accurately track and analyse key performance indicators. Documentation of project findings, challenges, recommendation and best practices;

Ensure that all project activities adhere to relevant ethical guidelines and standard operation procedures.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Health, Social Sciences or any related field.
  • Previous experience in working with USAID or PEPFAR supported programs-supported programs and KP-Led programs.
  • Minimum 5 years relevant professional experience in working with marginalized and vulnerable populations, such as female sex workers.
  • Demonstrates cultural awareness and sensitivity, respecting the diversity of the target population.
  • Documentation management and ability to use project management tools.
  • Good Organizational and multi-tasking skills;
  • Good Reporting skills and data – base management.
