Situated in the Leribe district; Lesotho, Phelisanang Bophelong HIV/AIDS Network, herein referred to as “PB”, is a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) and a Community-Based Organization (CBO) of People Living with HIV and AIDS (PLWHA) established in 2004. PB’s core mandate is to improve quality of life for PLWHA, Most at risk populations, Key and other vulnerable populations through universal access to Prevention, Treatment, Care, and Support services.

The organization reaches beneficiaries with services ranging from Prevention of TB/HIV and AIDS to impact mitigation through Prevention, Support, and Protection services, Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR), Gender Based Violence (GBV) responses, Livelihoods and Advocacy interventions at the community level. PB is seeking suitably qualified candidates to apply for the following position under the USAID Sustaining Epidemic Control through Unified Prevention (SECURE) Activity. PB’s scope of work under SECURE is to improve coverage of non-discriminatory, client centred, integrated services across the continuum of care for key populations.

Reporting to the Project Officer, the TB/HIV Clinical Nurse will be responsible for provision of comprehensive HIV, SRH and TB services and other prevention and clinical services to Female Sex Workers (FSW) and priority populations in Maseru district. This individual will be responsible for leading provision of comprehensive HIV package to program beneficiaries at the Drop – In Centre and community level.

???????????? ???????????????????????????????? ???????????????????? ???????????? ???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????? ???????? ???????????????? ???????????????????????????????? ????????????????????????????:

  • Support HIV testing and counselling services to program beneficiaries.
  • Working closely with the Case Management Team to develop appropriate referrals and linkages for HIV infected program beneficiaries.
  • Ensure HIV-positive clients are promptly linked to HIV treatment services
  • Art initiation of all HIV infected program beneficiaries at the Drop-in Centre and community level as per the National Care and Treatment Guidelines;
  • Screening for TB, STIs, VMMC and other services and coordinate with health for linkages to services;
  • Ensuring that the proper records are being kept and maintained, and timely submission of reports;
  • Initiate program beneficiaries on PrEP and perform other PrEP services as per the National Guidelines.
  • Provide access to a range of contraceptive methods to prevent unintended pregnancies.
  • Screen for and treat sexually transmitted infections, preventing further transmission
  • Closely monitor ART adherence and address any barriers to help achieve viral suppression.
  • Work closely and harmoniously with the M&E Assistant System Information (SI) Team to ensure proper and reliable record or database and reporting as per the reporting guidelines.
  • Coordinate with health facilities in the catchment area on referrals and linkages of clients
  • Supervising the Nursing Assistant for better performance and achievement of goals.

  • Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery
  • Bachelor’s Degree will be an added advantage;
  • Certification of registration with Lesotho Nursing Council (LNC).
  • At least 5 years relevant professional experience supporting HIV/TB programs in clinical and community settings.
  • Professional experience in working with marginalized and vulnerable populations, such as female sex workers.
  • Demonstrates cultural awareness and sensitivity, respecting the diversity of the target population.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours including weekends
  • Good interpersonal and communications skills.
