INDEPENDENT ELECTORAL COMMISSION

The Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) as a body that is mandated to deliver credible elections, and is currently undertaking a robust exercise of registering all eligible voters across the entire country. To pursue its mandate IEC has powers to appoint electoral officers, consultants and other persons, and specify their functions (National Assembly Electoral Act, 2011). IEC invites applications from suitably qualified Basotho nationals for the temporary positions of Voter Educators for the registration of voters.

Under the supervision of the Constituency Electoral Assistant (CEA), the Voter Educator shall:

  • Educate the public on electoral matters including Re – registration and other content provided by the Commission to be disseminated.
  • Distribute voter education materials in the Constituencies and conduct training for public on Re – registration.
  • Sensitise the public on all electoral activities relating to Re – registration in his/her respective constituency.
  • Assist the Constituency Electoral Assistant in the training of Electoral Stakeholders.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the District Electoral Officer that are related to the electoral processes.
  • Produce monthly reports and work plans.

  • Have at least a minimum Diploma in Adult Education/ Education/Public Administration/Development Studies.

???????????? ???????????????????????????????????? ????????????????????????:

  • Have good Communications skills.
  • Be registered as an elector.
  • Be willing to take appointment in any Constituency or District.
  • Be between the ages of 18 and 60.
  • Be willing to work over abnormal working hours and on weekends and holidays.
  • Be able to ride on horse-back (added advantage)
