Key Responsibilities:
Purpose of the position:
World Vision Lesotho is in the process of compiling a database for skilled temporary employees and therefore, invites suitably qualified candidates for this discipline.
Enumerators are engaged on a temporary, rolling basis to collect accurate and complete data from their designated area of work for the Program or Project that engages them. Their duties include: planning and organizing data collection activities in relation to the scope and schedule allocated by their supervisor, ensuring high data quality free from errors or inconsistencies. Enumerators are expected to maintain confidentiality, following WVL guidance, protocols, conduct and requirements.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Interpret interview questions to help candidates comprehend them and give persuasive responses.
- Verify the accuracy of the information on survey forms or information pads twice.
- Recognize and report any problems that might occur when attempting to collect reliable data.
- Make sure the supervisor is updated on the progress and accomplished tasks.
- Establish direct contact with each family member to examine the veracity of the information presented.
- Gather and keep track of information about people’s age, race, marital status, number of children, income levels, and other factors.
- Maintain confidentiality when gathering private data, such as health status or criminal history.
- Conduct telephone surveys to identify potential responders to determine who could be interested in participating in a study.
- Obtain data about the respondents’ occupation, educational background, and other demographic characteristics.
- Speak with participants in an interview to get their opinions on the whole experience after the study.
- Submitting completed tasks to a supervisor and discussing developments daily.
- Must be a committed Christian, able to stand above denominational diversities.
- Be culturally sensitive and have the ability to work with people from different cultural backgrounds;
Qualifications: Education/Knowledge/Technical Skills and Experience
- Degree in Statistics & Demography, Economics, Data Science, Monitoring & Evaluation or related discipline;
- Experience in statistics, research techniques, data collection, and analysis are an added advantage.
