Job offer: Junior Metallugist at Letšeng Diamonds

Introduction

Letšeng Diamonds (Pty) Ltd (“Letšeng”), a private company owned by Gem Diamonds Limited (“Gem”) (70%) and the Government of Lesotho (“GoL”) (30%) has insourced process function which consists of Plant Maintenance, Plant operation and Plant Procurement. As part of this insourcing, Letšeng is looking for suitable candidates for the position of Junior Metallugist

Duties & Responsibilities

To support the plant metallurgist to provide quality assurance of the efficiency of the diamond extraction process, and to provide service and project management support to the treatment team to ensure maximized efficiency of the metallurgical process. Also to provide input into the evaluation of Processing training needs, and assistance with the collation of training manuals and aids, to ensure high levels of staff proficiency

Desired Qualification, Experience, Skills & Competencies

Diploma in Metallurgy, Mineral Processing or Chemical Engineering

Minimum of 1 year experience with a proven track record of success in a relevant metallurgical operational experience

Ability to work independently, function under pressure and maintain critical attention to detail.
Skilled in diamond processing operations. Good skill in metallurgical efficiency and processing quality management. Good knowledge and skill in the application of scientific tools and process efficiency testing techniques. Good knowledge of metallurgical laboratory practicle and techniques. Good communication skills (formal, written and verbal)
Valid driver’s license
