Position: Network Quality Engineer

Department: Network Quality Management – Technical

Reports to: Network Quality Manager

Purpose:

To ensure that Econet Telecom Lesotho’s mobile network achieves international quality of service standards.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Conduct network optimization activities to enhance coverage, capacity and overall network performance.
• Analyze network Key Performance Indicators to identify trends, potential issues and areas for improvement.
• Perform network audits regularly to ensure compliance with the company quality standards and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor the network, prepare and deliver detailed reports on network quality, performance metrics and improvement initiatives.
• Troubleshoot and implement corrective actions to mitigate network performance issues related to performance, coverage and quality.
• Collect and analyze customer requirements. Follow up the customer complains related to the network.
• Network parameter tuning to achieve and maintain the target Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
• Perform Single Site Verifications (SSVs) to ensure that new sites meet specifications.
• Detect performance degradations and formulate the proper corrective actions.
• Conduct Network Drive Testing, logfile analysis and provide recommendations.
• Liaise with customer support teams to address network related issues impacting customers.
• Recommend new tools, technologies and processes to improve network quality.

Educational Qualifications and Related Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 2-3 years’ experience in mobile network quality management.
• Three (3) years driving experience.

Knowledge Areas & Competencies:

• Strong understanding of mobile network technologies (5G, 4G,3G,2G)
• Excellent understanding of KPI definitions and calculation methods
• Skillful in network quality tools and software (e.g. TEMS, NEMO)
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Familiarity with network optimization techniques and tools
• Excellent in network performance analysis and troubleshooting.
• Relevant certification in mobile network technologies or quality assurance are a plus (e.g., 5G certification)
