JOB DESCRIPTION
Pharmacy Technician will be responsible for ordering, receiving, preparing and dispensing prescription drugs, over the counter drugs and other medical devices under the supervision of the responsible pharmacist. Ensuring the proper storage of the medication and enhancing safety of the medication as they are issued to clients and patients.
Responsibilities
*Order drugs and medical supplies from stores
*Receive drugs from the store and enhance proper recording
*Pre-pack drugs for dispensing
*Ensure availability of pharmaceuticals
*Advice on effective use of pharmaceuticals
*Monitor both prescription and over the counter medications
*Ensure confidentiality of patient information
*Produce and submit daily, weekly and monthly reports as required by the management. Other duties assigned to him/her by the pharmacist or the management.
JOB SPECIFICATION
Diploma in pharmacy technology or any pharmacy related qualification; eight months to one year of experience in retail pharmacy will be an added advantage.
