An opportunity exists to join this People Centric Company in the above capacity. Metropolitan Lesotho is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Momentum Group, a company registered on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange. We are currently looking for a dynamic and self-motivated individual in the position of Chief Financial Officer based in Maseru, Lesotho. The incumbent will report directly to the Managing Director.

Role Purpose

This is a strategic position that is responsible for leading and overseeing financial activities for Metropolitan Lesotho and it’s subsidiaries by providing professional and ethical financial services that are aligned with overall business strategy, as well as the overall financial strategy of the Group while ensuring the sustained profitability of the business.

Requirements

  • Post graduate degree in Accounting (CA),
  • An appropriate business post graduate tertiary qualification (MBA),
  • Minimum of 10 years experience in financial management role; 5-7 in senior management or leadership role,
  • Experience in insurance (desirable),
  • Knowledge of Generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and risk management principles.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Direct and oversee all aspects of the finance functions (accounting, tax, capital management etc.), ensuring healthy financial management across the business.
  • Coordinate the process for the development, implementation and monitoring of fit for purpose budgets to ensure the business operating model is adequately budgeted for.
  • Oversee the monitoring of financial performance by measuring and analysing business results, initiating corrective actions and minimizing the impact of variances.
  • Oversee the production and delivery of accurate financial metrics, statements and reports for the business within agreed timelines
  • Present a complete analysis of financial results including strategic and tactical insights and recommendations to executive committee, Finance and Risk Committee and Board.
