Supervise a team of Mining Operators in the daily mining activities and strategically strive to meet specified targets. Assist in the development of operators and the efficient operation of the mine.
Responsibilities of the Quality Controller will include the following;
o Take full responsibility of the team in terms of staff management, maximize production in terms of availability of equipment and ensure the smooth running of production
o Conduct daily pre-shift meetings to ensure that employees are informed of safety and production issues.
o Give job specific instructions on a daily basis and monitor progress
o Ensure that quantities produced are in line with the client’s quantity targets
o Assist in shift planning and scheduling to include: work assignments and rotational breaks
o Efficiently control pit operations to detect violations of safety regulations and complete production and safety records
o Regularly tour and inspect operation sites to inspect, identify and raise any health and safety, environmental, production, equipment and employees irregularities.
o Prepare reports on accident/incident that happen during shift
o Fairly plan and record vocational requests and shift schedules and organize relievers in respect of absent employees as per the shift’s specifications
o Attend and solve employees queries and requests
o Ensure that all mining employees are trained on the use of appropriate equipment
o Perform any other reasonable tasks when requested by the Operations Manager
• At least have 5 years working experience in a mining production supervisory position
• Mining Qualification
o In-depth knowledge of all mining operations performed in the pit. Knowledge of equipment functioning and the corrective action to be taken in the event of an equipment irregularities
